Despite the torrential rains that I thought would keep almost everyone away from the Biltmore, we had 8 players in the tournament. Congratulations to Albert Mestre and Alec Izzo, the winner and runner-up respectively, and to George (whose last name I will report to y’all later) who won the consolation bracket.
We were honored to have US Backgammon Federation president and executive director Dr. Karen Davis join us in the tournament.

When I was writing that last paragraph and linking to the USBGF site, I realized that I had let my membership lapse. I remedied that situation and once again I am a USBGF member. Hey, you gotta put your money where your mouth is.
